Tanuki said just about the same thing after I talked with her about this post: that Wade's arc demanded that he fail in his attempt to get Evans a good deal out of life. And I think she and you are right about that. Wade can sympathize and try to do this guy a favor, but because of the life he leads, it's not that simple.
